Unrivalled VIP service

Hakuchōzan was conceived out of a love for the family, and a desire to create a destination where multiple generations of loved ones could create sensational memories to last a lifetime.  The owners having aging parents, five children of their own, and several brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces.

Because of the size of the family and the multi-generational way they spend holidays, the chalet was designed to have multiple entertaining areas where each generation can enjoy and socialize in privacy, and yet where everyone can also gather to create festive memories with family and friends.

Hakuchōzan means “swan mountain” in Japanese.  The owners of the property were engaged to be married at Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria which means New Swan Castle.  As a tie to that special moment, they brought the theme of the swan to Niseko, Japan to represent love in its deepest form.

The mission of HakuLife is to create sensational memories for our guests, bringing a whole new standard of international luxury and white glove VIP service to Niseko. In top resort destinations around the world including Courchevel, Verbier, Zermatt and Aspen, the most discriminating guests are accustomed to exquisite properties fully staffed with chauffeurs, chefs, and butlers ready to cater to their every need – all in their native languages. VIP guests coming to Niseko deserve the same.

HakuLife team members are fluent in Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, English, Bahasa, and French.  Today, in Niseko, this level of service is only available at Hakuchōzan

Beginning with white glove airport pickup service and a bottle of Dom Pérignon on arrival at Hakuchōzan, guests are pampered with service and an attention to detail that were previously available only in Europe and North America. Guests wake up to inspiring breakfast aromas filtering through the home and a toasty fire taking the chill out of the morning air. They are whisked to their favorite ski lift by our HakuLife chauffeurs, and in the afternoon, they return home to a snack of warm crepes, hot chocolate and a restaurant-quality, home cooked meal prepared by a HakuLife chef.

HakuDevelopment is a luxury lifestyle property developer whose heritage is rooted in understanding the dreams, desires, and needs of those discerning owners who already have everything.  Their first project, Hakuchōzan, has been nominated for the 2016 World’s Best New Ski Chalet by World Ski Awards and for the 2017 Japan’s Best Ski Chalet. Hakuchōzan commands the highest rental rates in Niseko due to the exquisite level of service and design.  Recently, CNN Travel Elite Escapes named Hakuchōzan one of the world’s 15 best luxury ski lodges.

The Founder of HakuDevelopment, Michael Chen, was formerly the President of International Marketing for one of the largest VIP hospitality businesses in the world. In that role, he and his team designed bespoke VIP experiences generating over US$1B in revenue each year.

From chauffeuring VIP guests via helicopter and landing on the first tee of one of the most exclusive golf courses in the world to having a butler bring hot coffee mid-slope to a VIP ski guest, nothing was too much trouble nor beyond the realm of possibilities. On one occasion, the team even arranged a tasting of rare Chateau Latour wines on a private jet hosted by none other than the CEO of Chateau Latour himself.   The team was only constrained by its own ability to conceive of the next sensational service experience.
